    Oil pressure sending unit ground

Did you ever figure out the issue? I have a similar issue. I'm 99% sure it's an instrumentation issue, not an actual oil pressure issue. The gauge always reads zero, except if I turn car off...then quickly turn key to on(not start engine) the needle will read for a second...then drop off as...

    Towing

With my ol 91, I installed a trans cooler, the upgraded newer cooling fans and a set of helper coil springs in the back. Also...went through and replaced the whole cooling system...radiator, water pump hoses, Tstat. I towed a 3000lb car from Florida to Texas then two years later back to...

    Compression test question

I found out the problem. I had water in the cylinder. It was raining(I was under partial cover). The rain was dripping down the windshield and into the spark plug hole. I cycled the engine several times, I could see the water vapor coming out. After. That compression test was normal. Here's...

    Compression test question

I consider naxja to have the best knowledge base of all the forums. That being said I am working on a 3.2 cadillac, and replaced the heads(Had them professionally rebuilt, new valves guides etc) new timing belt, properly timed. I am conducting a compression test prior to starting. 5 of the...

    99 Gas pedal issue

My son got hi foot caught on the gas pedal, and caused the pedal to fall too low(Sitting so low it is almost on the carpet). I see there are two brass looking "keepers". One that keeps the cable from going through the firewall, and the other keeps the cable from slipping through the pedal. Do...

Someone help my XJ broke! (pics)

Unplug the fuel pump and check it with an OHM meter, see if the ground goes away. If not, then unplug the O2 sensor, again, check it to see if it goes away. If neither of them make it go away, trace out the other wires one at a time and check them.

    RUNNING RICH?????

You should have a referance voltage TO the sensor of 5 volts(Read across the pins of the harness). The sensor will be read in ohms(Read across the pins of the sensor). I dont, however, have the range, youll need to look in the book, FSM haynes chiltons, should all have that info. It will tell...

    RUNNING RICH?????

Does it run rich right after start up before it warms up or after? If it is rich before it warms up all the way, then I would also check coolant temp sensor. Make sure its got 5V to it, and that the resistance tracks like it should as the engine coolant warms up/cools down as applicable.

    New PCM

Ben have you checked the coolant temperature sensor? Its an important one, but I havent, unless i missed it, heard you mention it. Check reference voltage to it, then check resistance cold and hot. Normally this sensor is what your computer uses when in cold starting condition, then upon...
