my 2001 has 179K and no problems. Still has original exhaust. went through a few radiators and batteries over the years. ac has a wicked leak but no big deal.

replace it with your totaled xj.

could be bad gasoline? Mine did the same after filling up at old 66 a few years ago. I ran some premium from my regular station and some gas additive and problem went away

What did you hit?

New OEM replacements have 6 blades. My original had 10 blades

Also only makes the noise while driving. Checked it in the driveway and no noise, turns smooth. Drove it around the block and pops even while driving slow around corners, seems to be coming from both sides. Track bar maybe?

So on the way home today I noticed the front end making a clunking sound when turning into my neighborhood. Besides the noise it also felt like there was something wrong, could kinda of feel the clunks on the steering wheel if that makes sense. Have not noticed it until now but it doesnt mean...

I was thinking it was either the plugs or a blankie stuck in the rear hatch. Thank goodness its only the plugs, jacking up a xj is impossible to figure out! ;)

Well I can use my hand again so thats good. Thanks for asking, good memory. Haven't flown lately and now that I have two hands again I got alot of stuff to do with the jeep.
