    Tire Carrier Recommendations

Take a good look at the Durango 4X4 rear. I recently put one on my 2000, along with the high lift and can holder. It was not cheap, but I was impressed. Very strong, well built, and looks good. "George" is good to work with. He added shackle tabs and made sure the powder coat that was...

    illegal immigration

I'm on public assistance...I work for the Gov't. Seriously though. I'm a cop and have run into this kind of thing more times than I care to remember. I'll stop a vehicle full of people from "south of the border". Not one of them speeks any english, has a drivers license, unless it's a...

Disconnected UCA, Now Axle Will NOT Line Up.

If they are no longer than stock, after unbolting the lower shock mount, and unhooking the anti sway bar, and the spring retainer at the bottom of the spring, they will almost fall out. I've been able to get them out w/out using the compessors. I don't unbolt the track bar unless I really have...

I've seen many people "in the trade" mess up a job doing things the quick way also.

    Noisy XJ

Could't hear it, but is your cat in good shape? I've had them break up inside and rattle. Try knocking on it with a hammer or something and listen for it.

Disconnected UCA, Now Axle Will NOT Line Up.

I'm glad it worked out for u. They really don't torque them around in the factory. When I take them out completey (axles), putting them back in is a matter of jacking them into place, connecting the arms and such, putting the springs back in and so on... They line up w/out much effort when not...

    Patriot....A suitable XJ replacement?

The original question was regarding a replacement for the XJ. It may blow away the cute-utes, but is just not comparable to the XJ, modified or not. As a daily driver grocery getter family vehicle with lighter off road use it is probaly fine, and would be fine for most people that dont go off...

Disconnected UCA, Now Axle Will NOT Line Up.

Ok. Everyone want's to bend, fold, tear and mutilate. I don't think they used pipe wrenches, comealongs and bottle jacks when they built the thing. There is a procedure to do things that actually can work without breaking parts or your back. Spend lots of time fighting it into place, or...

    Patriot....A suitable XJ replacement?

If it had a low range, and if someone actually made a lift for it, which they most likely won't spend the money or time to develope, the 4 cyl would not want to move it with real tires, the drive train would not handle it, and the mileage would be as bad as the XJ. Other than that, it would be...

Disconnected UCA, Now Axle Will NOT Line Up.

PS: or you can get friend with pry bars and torque the thing around for a while till it lines up. Just don't be under it anywhere.

Disconnected UCA, Now Axle Will NOT Line Up.

Is the anti sway bar still connected at the links? If not, and you still can't get it , try disconnecting the lower control arm at the axle on the problem side. This may make it easier to move the axle back and forth to align to upper. Then, with the upper arm in, lower the vehicle onto it...

    New 2000 XJ Concern...

Mine ran fine all the time with the leak. I believe it was only leaking a couple days before I found it, and things were trashed in that amount of time. First thing I did was pressure test the radiator. The pressure bled off pretty quick. I thought I had a bad head gasket at first as there...

    New 2000 XJ Concern...

Oh, and you may not see the crack by looking down a dark hole with a flashlight at an oily surface. The crack in mine was a good 3 inches long, and it could not be seen, even with the head off, until it was hot tanked.
