I used the ford cables and ran them up to the stock jeep part . I cut the housings got to brass hose barbs and rubber hose , ran the cable thru the barbs put rubber line on barb so no rattles . Cut cables to length use cable clamps to secure to stock jeep assembly .
I am battling this heat soak issue myself I'm at the point of raising the hood .I wrapped the fuel rail along time ago but, it still boils all the gas out.
I just replaced mine last week , 206k it had separated and the outside started to walk off the hub . I've had a squeal for a year and in the span of 3 months I have noticed the separation .
Bought a power bond from oreily 35 bucks .
Look at vintage air for the A/C bracket . They make 2 bracket kits the cheaper kit ( under 100 bucks ) works well .

I know this thread is a few weeks old but thought I would add to the confusion.
When I did my 8.8 swap I cut the old shock mounts off the D35 and shortened them up a bit and welded them back on the 8.8.
Cheap simple and works well.
So the RC cross member bolts to where the stock trans cross member bolted to?
If it were me I would put my stiffners on and make the crossmember 3 pieces , then bolt/weld the outer pieces to the stiffners.
Mine has never boiled over but it runs over 210* and that is alittle hot to me even tho I know it is ok. my issue was the way it was getting there .
