**NWChapter Random Thoughts Thread***

I heard today he was wearing a load-bearing vest, not a bullet-proof vest....not that in the heat of the moment (or under fire) ...one would be able to distinguish the two apart.....let alone, providing he had them over clothes, and not under clothes, or under a jacket.
Sad regardless, character reports have been coming in, saying he was a nice kid... and that this was completely unexpected. (I guess that part goes without saying...but still)

Yeah, a witness (who sounded like he knew quite a bit) said it was armor before cops were even going in the building.

That right there is the issue. You know there had to be someone in that mall packin. But if you have never pulled your weapon, could you! And if you did would you really know what to do! In a crowded mall like that would you have a clean shot, would you take the shot! Shooter was in armor, with an AK, if you have never heard a bullit come out of an AK its intimidating. The last thing in the world I would want to see is some "Buck-a-roo ( a guy from Washougal ) thinking he's the newest SWAT guy with his S&W and start shooting back. Its like anything else you pull out!!! If you do, you really should know how to use it, carrying it & using it.... 2 very different things. :sure:

I understand where your coming from a little. But If I were in a situation like that, I would rather be armed with any pistol then none at all. At least an armed person has a bit better of a chance for all it's worth.

Also I have had to depend on my carry weapon a couple times.

I've been spending way too much time reading about diesel conversions

Certainly an interesting topic. It used to be more attractive back when diesel was cheap(er)

When you're looking at a rig that gets 11-15 MPG and the purpose of the rig is to go on 1000+ mile trips, that doubled gas mileage looks really attractive...

So the other day while I was in the garage my quad says to me "dude" can we get some snow up in here. I need to get out and slide" So im with ya Demonoid!!

when does one simply make the decision to move on with their jeep?

Do reputations ever actually turn around? at what point do you start over? Is a major car accident truly the only reason to do so?
