XJ anti rock kit

Are they really doing the XJ one? I was disappointed with manufacturers when I worked in the industry. The product reps would come along every so often and ask what we'd like to see. We would tell them our XJ customers were very disappointed that they couldn't get cool things the TJ folks had. Look how long it took Currie to come out with a marketed XJ-specific anti-rock. The anti-rock and Rubicon Express longarms were TJ parts when they were put on. Sure the mounts/crossmember had to be made, but there wasn't anything like them at the time. XJ has been around a lot longer than the TJ...

who needs sway bars anyways???

Yeah I understand there's R&D time and money...but it's still disappointing after the model has been out for years and you still can't get certain things for it. :)

Think of it as an opportunity for fab!

And yeah - there are more people wheeling TJs than XJs. That has something to do with product availability.

The only reason Currie has a Anti-Rock for an XJ is because T&J came up with it and needed Curries Torsion Bar.

I will say the John Currie spent a hell of a lot of time developing the right torsion bar for there setup, from what I was told, they have a whole bunch stacked up that did not work. Lot of R&D.

This is high on my list of things to do--I think QDs are a pain and I seldom bother to disconnect anyway. This company has the TJ set on eBay all the time. I'm pretty sure it is the correct length for the XJ. One would simply have to fab up the arm mounting (which you'd probably have to do anyway if you have custom bumper mounts, C-ROK, etc.) for $320 shipped.

So I finally wheeled on the anti-rock, it does limit the front flex somewhat, but it also forces the rear to flex more. It keeps my jeep much much more stable on rocks and off camber situations, before with my long arms the suspension would unload quickly causing a sideways shaking of sorts. With the anti-rock the unloading is slowed way down and it creates a much more stable ride on the trail. I will hopefully get some flex pictures of it later tonight from my friends that had cameras today.

Glad ya liked it. :)

lol, exactly. Shocks don't really do much at all to slow down travel. If they did, the ride would be HORRIBLE.

Really?
I would have to disagree with that statement.
The whole purpose of shocks is to dampen the springs, particularly spring rebound.
Which by deffinition is to slow down the spring movement.

If shocks don't slow down spring travel, then what is it they are dong?

bump-any pics yet? Would you recommend limiting straps with this setup (center and/or outer straps) or does this prevent the shocks from being the "limiting" factor. thanks.

reviving an old thread - to those who have the AntiRock installed, how do they perform ? Do you like it ?

If you use an aftermarket bumper, just get the kit with the standard length arms and you can weld the bracket/tube directly onto the bumper mounts.
