Rock Rails

I know this has been a topic of debate for a long time. I need to get some new rock rails. I don't have the time to build my own right now so I am gonna have to buy them. I am debating between the ORGS super nerfs and the Custom 4x4 Fab double-tube nerfs. The ORGS ones are $320 and the Custom 4x4's are $245. What would you get? Here is a pic of the Custom 4x4 ones: http://custom4x4fabrication.com/roundnerf3.jpg Here is the link for pics of the ORGS Supernerfs: http://orgsmfg.com/product/snxj.htm Would you pay the extra money for the supernerfs or save a little for something else like a winch bumper? It's only money right..................YEAH RIGHT! :explosion

How about AJ's...I would say just as strong...if not stronger...and reasonablely priced. Then you can buy a bumper from him too.

OK, what about AJ's rails as well: http://www.ajsoffroadarmor.com/RockRails/index.htm They also look like the others with the extra hoop that can be used as a step and a pivot point on obstacles. http://www.ajsoffroadarmor.com/RockRails/images/SuperRails_01.jpg

I do think the ORGS ones fit tighter to the body, but I do not know about the C4x4's though...............

i would go with C4x4. they seem to be mid priced and they look awesome. just curious, why haven't you considered the four real steel rails from daystar? they are around 310.

The only thing I would consider is tie-in points if you ever plan on exo-caging. I am going to exo-cage my XJ, and I would think a rock slider with square tubing would be much easier to weld good supports to than the ones with the round tubing.

If you aren't planning on anything like that, then the next thing to consider is the type of the terrain you plan on using these on. Rocks bend just about anything, though Rocky Road has some big claims about how theirs hold up.

If you're going for looks, then I have no comment...

FYI, if you plan on using a pre-made exo, like C-ROK's, then go with the ORGS supernerfs. The way Greg explained it to me, he would be building his exo cages to tie into the supernerfs.

LOL. No, they're not for show. I plan on using them for what they are made. I don't think I will ever do an exo, maybe just an internal. But that is another issue. I do like how tight the square tube fits against the body on the ORGS vs. some of the others, but I haven't seen the C4x4's up close to tell.
