knew I'd seen them somewhere--Mopar roller rockers

Yella Terra roller rockers have been discussed here before, but I found these Mopar rollers, & I don't remember whether they've been mentioned here before:

http://www.mopar.com/m_perf_parts_product_part.jsp?categoryID=10016&itemID=531

anyone know what the deal is, here? I found the page thru an old link (http://www.lunghd.com/Downloads_and_Links/Links_Page.htm) so I'm not sure these parts are still being sold--no price is listed--nevertheless, the webpage gives the Mopar part number (P4529885) & you'd have to buy six of them, + a valve cover spacer. Anyone know whether this is cheaper than buying the Yella Terra set?

They cost over $200 more than the Yella Terra YT6627A's.

YT6627A = $440 from http://www.quadratec.com

Mopar Performance RR's + valve cover spacer = $645 from http://www.hescosc.com

The Mopar Perofrmance RR's are shaft-mounted like the YT's but they're adjustable (unlike the YT's) so you can use them if you need to adjust lifter preload (hydraulic cams) or if you install a solid lifter cam (to set valve lash).

Not Sure if still available from MOPAR - but somebody in MI has been selling them on e-bay - I got a set for $200 - don't know which engine I'll use them on - but I'll find something.

Ah. That's what I wanted to know--thanks. Great website, BTW, I don't think I've thanked you for it before tho I've been to it a hundred times. I also submitted it to jeepforum.com as a link (they now have a 'links' section & I thought yours belonged under tech).

Yeah, rub it in. (just kidding) Do you remember what search terms you used on eBay?

When I search for Mopar RR's I get the ones for the 258's, never 4.0L or 2.5L. And when I search for just RR's or Jeep RR's I get a million useless auctions. I suppose I should just congratulate you on a fine find, but instead I think I'll wallow in a state of envy for awhile.

Sounds like the same guy I bought mine from...

I don't care how he gets them...

They're nice spanking new...

No paperwork with specs or anything else tho.

:D

I just realized it sounds like I was praising NAXJA.org. The praise was all for Dino's website, though (www.jeep4.0performance.4mg.com). So, Dino, I meant to say thanks for the info in this thread AND thanks for your great website.

Oh, NAXJA is great too. Don't get me wrong...

& I never mentioned the reason I'm looking for RR's--it's 'cause my existing rockers look quite worn, & I figure I might as well upgrade.

If only I could find a set of RR's that don't cost a arm and a leg. The cheapest set of new RR's that I can get are the $370 (directly from Australia) "Yellow Terrors". I've been looking on e-bay for some time to find cheaper ones but have had no luck so far. :(
