My jeep was getting reaally hot and upon inspection I found some black powder crap in my coolant. I saw this before on one of my other cars (the joys of always having beaters) and pretty sure that one of the hoses is rotting from inside so I bought all new replacements and flushed the engine. Anyways I just got back with the dealer hoses and they are kinda different.
The lower hose now has a spring and a belt protector (old hose on top)
The upper hose is now a one-size-fits-all design--the models with and without A/C share the same "upgrade" design. Note that the plastic sleeve is to protect the hose from the hood and/or compressor but it no longer blocks the A/C lines
I like the lower hose a lot. For the upper I think it would probably be better to get aftermarket that was in the original molding.
