Recharging 87 Renix A/C

I have searched and was not able to find an answer, but how the hell do you charge the thing? It won't take in and refrigerant, Does the little "knob" out front have to be opened? This jeep was already converted to 134. I just can't get it to take in any oil and i don't know if the valve has to be opened, and if so how do i open it?

If you mean these things then Yes. Take the caps off and open the valve. Do not turn them all the way, just a few turns to the "mid-seat" position

I got ride of those on both my Renix jeeps this past year. My local AC parts guy has a non-valve replacement.

Does it open to the left and close to the right?

Opens to the right (clockwise) -- no more than a couple of turns as stated above. Close to the left (counter-clockwise).
