1991 XJ auto trans question

Replaced my AW4 ( I think) front seal today and have a question.
There is a thin sheet metal cover on the bottom half of the bell housing.
It goes on after bolting up the torque converter to the flex plate.

It has three small bolts holding it on and at the bottom two very large hardened steel through bolts and nut.
They look much too large for just holding that plate on.

Is my 1991 4.0l auto missing some parts?

Dunno about size of bolts, but that is your inspection over.

Should have a few smaller bolts holding the cover on and the two large ones on the bottom. One of mine also held on a bracket supporting the transmission cooler lines. No exhaust brackets there though!

OK, thanks.
I had a Ford once that had two braces that went from the bottom of tranny up to side of engine.
Thought Jeep had something similar that got tossed in a prior repair job.

I forgot to disconnect the O2 sensor when I dropped the exhaust, so far that's the only casulty.

Does seem overkill just to hold on the inspection cover. I guess the bell housing must have other applications that require the large mounting holes.
