I've got an 88 XJ and am in the process of swapping in a booster/mastercylinder from a 96 XJ. I know that the rod from the 96 has to be ground down and drilled to fit the brake light switch onto it.
What has me concerned is that the rod on the 88 is 5" from the mating surface to the center of the hole in the rod. The 96 is about 5 5/8" with the aluminum spacer on it.
Is this an issue. I did some searching and found where people were installing the 95-96 booster and mc into older XJs but no info on the length difference.
Did I just miss the right thread?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA
