Lower steering shafts different?

Does anybody know of any year differences in the lower steering shafts on XJs with power steering? are they all the same? I know when you buy an aftermarket like a Borgeson its the same part number for 87-01. Or if there is a difference how hard would it be to make it work?

I am getting ready to add power steering to my comanche and the steering shaft looks the same to me. It is the input snout on the gear box that has a different length

Well, reason I ask being theres a guy near me that has a shaft from a 98, and since mine in my 88 is bad I figured it would be a decent replacement, if it will fit. I'm pretty sure the boxes are the same, but I don't know if the output on the column is the same, or if it changed.
