rear end knocking

98 8.25 456 gear detroit locker ..... had to take tires off and put on stockers for insurance bull snot didnt mark them and know im hearing a knocking from the rear end at 50ish mph.... more so when its wet out is it the locker ?? iv read the detroits can be quite loud...just replaced the yoke and u joint. tom. im going to make sure there is the same amount of air in both resar tieres and if that dont work ill make them and measure them and=y other info would be grand ...tia....go HAWKS!

my guess would be pinion bearings... take you drive shaft off and wiggle your pinion check for any play

just what i was hoping would not be the problem ......didnt check yet but if that is the culprit dont you have to tale the locker, ring and pinion gear out to replace it. HAWKS WIN HAWKS WIN

ohhh on the way home from work it was a raining and it was more prevalent . on wet roads. gassed it heard let off didnt hear it.

when you replaced the yoke did check the torque before removing it and then install the new one to that torque spec? did you replace the crush sleeve?
