No stereo? no build is complete without a few 12"s and 6 amps!

But there is a stereo....you can see the XM Roadie on the console below the shifter. It's piped into the intercom system, but you have to wear the headsets to hear it. The intercom also has auto mute, so when you talk or someone is talking to you on the race radio, it mutes the tunes.

Can we get info on that light bar?

Loose_Nuts_Enterprises

Can we get info on that light bar?

What info are you looking for? It's made out of 1" .065 tubing, some light tabs, etc. The stabilizer bars (also adjusters) are the same tubing with right and left hand threaded nuts welded on the ends with 1/2" heims. The roof mounts are 1 1/2" tube, through the roof, welded to the cage inside.

You should make those and sell them! sounds like a quality setup considering the adjustability

I'm still sorting out some glare on the windshield issues...I may need to make a small visor under the lights to keep the glass in the shadow. I'm not fond of the looks of the lights completely on top of the roof.

We built a couple of similar ones for the race jeep and our crew chief's rig.

Mine is sunk down in front like that...I like mine, not the ones that are way up high. I still need to paint my white hood. I think that's where a lot of the glare is coming from.

I may still have the template for the fronts. I haven't done the rear doors or the hatch yet. I need to build a rear bumper (sold my old one) and I think I may cut the hatch so the spare tire is half in-half out, with a tube "corral" around it. Still undecided though. Know anyone with a spare hatch I could cut up??:D

Haha what a BAMF. That hatch idea sounds like a sweet idea, I may know of some hatches. I think Johnny is getting rid of his 2 door, so you may be able to hit him up about his rear hatch.

I feel the same way. The only reason I'm looking to do it is for more room inside once I cage etc.

No need to be scared....it has never let me down, and I've thoroughly abused it. I made that bracket before RE even had their HD one with the bracket on the market. It's not the prettiest thing though...

They are hella heavy....but I used to break the lockouts every trip to the rocks. Believe it or not, it still sees the rocks occasionally...just have to be mindful of my fake sheetmetal:D It was good to see you at KOH. Been a long time.

Just mounted them up and cut at the door seam. These things are spring loaded though, and deform out of shape a little when you cut them. Eventually I'll make some inner panels to hold them where they belong.

I can still reach up under them to get to the door handle.

I have a set of those hub protectors, they've saved a lot of broken hubs. They are real heavy, though, when I quit taking my XJ to the Hammers I took them off........but I may put them back on. :)

It's just a piece of sheemetal, covering up the lower core support.
That way if I run into something and tweak it, it's a lot easier to replace. The front is plenty tied together with tube reinforcement plates, etc. My junk is heavy enough without putting a big ole skid plate way up there.

I haven't done anything new lately...Got a new torque converter special made from The Converter Shop in Lake Havasu today. Hopefully that will be going in later this week, along with a 5.0 mustang motor. Last motor blew a head gasket, so I had this 5.0 motor laying around. Should have better power than the old 289.
