trans from 87 wrangler to 85 XJ?

Is there anyway to swap a transmission (peugeot)from a 87 wrangler with 4.2L to an 85 XJ with 2.8 V6 with ax-3?, Both are manual trannies :dunno: . Not sure what tranny is in the wrangler but do know it is a 5 speed.

certainly, with a very expensive custom bellhousing.
Look into the s10s and such, any 60* transmission from a 2.8,3.1 or 3.4 should work. Is this a 4wd or 2wd?

I'm assuming you meant you have an AX-5 in your 1985 Cherokee with the 2.8L V6. The Peugeot BA-10/5 will not bolt up to the 2.8L V6. The bellhousing bolt pattern is completely different.
