242 swap.

I have a 90 laredo. Want to replace the np231 with the np242. My question is on the front axle. I have the vacume disconect. I know the 242 dosent use that. So if i was to do the swap how would i make the axle work. Replace the whole thing or is there somthing else i do to make it work.
