Need a little help...

The electric fan on my '98 XJ is not working.

Checked all of the obvious culprits - fuse, wiring, connections... No dice!

Any suggestions on where to go from here??

Thanks in advance!

i would use test clamps drietly from the battery, if it doesnt work then, then i would say the fan was toast..if it works, then something else is wrong

Hallo Jeeper. ---Ouote:Checked all of the obvious culprits - fuse, wiring, connections... No dice!------- Maybe there is also a fan RELAY ?
You can swap that to control. (in the powertrain control module)

Replace the fan, the motor is bad.

You have two simple options to test the fan. Either check for voltage at the fan plug with voltmeter or test light, or run wires directly to the battery. If you have voltage at the plug and the connector and wires look good, the motor is bad. If the fan won't run when direct wired, the fan motor is bad. Let us know the results of one of these tests and we can go from there. Many other things can be wrong, but they are easy to systematically trace.
