Belt Routing... Hmm.

I have No A/C, no mech fan, and I'm tired of blowing alternators... Thought I saw a thread to do this before, but I'm not sure.


So, if this is stock:

I'm not sure if I should keep the idler or not.



Alternativly, I wanted to use the YJ V-belt setup. I have a v-belt PS pump and Alt already. However, I'd need some new pullies and a water pump...

I'd go with pic 1 for simplicity but I'd keep the serp belt (just carry a spare).

It'll be a bitch to fabricate an alternator bracket but possible.

This diagram is the same as your option 1 and I think that's the best way to go. Less pulleys = less things to go wrong.

If someone wants to make some fun cash, make up a BRACKET that could be used in the AC position to hold the ALT. I would get one and many others. Even better, supply the bracket and a new serp belt as well. I'll be the first to order one.
