OK, i have my t-case w/sye from my 89'. its a 231 and i want to put the sye on my 96'. will the t-case just bolt in or are the splines different?? any help would b nice....Rich S

The splines are different, but you maybe able to transfer the SYE kit(depends on what type).Does your 96 have the new style output?

was the 89 manual or auto?

When I did mine I needed a 14mm. A ratcheting wrench helps a ton, I would get the one with the bendable head.

if you had an auto in the 89 you probably have a 21 spline shaft so it won't work.

was 5speed ba-10, 96 is auto, not sure is its new style or not? how can u tell?

you have a 21 spline case and your 96 is 23 spline

so can i just change the sye to new case?? or do i go buy new one?

I bet it can be done, Don't see that being a big issue. Just check with the MFR first.

It depends on what type of kit you have now,and which style t-case you have(96 is a split year, most that I have seen are the newer style).
