Question about axle degree shims...

You need extended pins.

When I've used shims the pin has always been long enough to reach the perch. Do aftermarket springs have longer pins? That's all I've ever used the slip in shims on. Of course the right solution is to use bolt in shims that are part of the spring pack, but that's not always the simple option.

RCP is right, if your pin isn't long enough to reach the perch, you're just hoping it's centered, there's no guarantee. Extended pins can be had for cheap money, and are certainly something you should have if your's are indeed too short.

The steel shims from RE include new center pins. You're much better off using the bolt in style as opposed to the aluminum slip-ins. You dont have to worry about them squirting out on you.
