I dont think my stock alt is as weak as the voltmeter wants to lead me to beleive. Im reading about 10-11 volts with the headlights on. I have a fairly new battery and it read the same prior (being that the battery is part of the charging circuit I included that information).
So, Im looking at the economical way that will most likely resolve any voltage issues... new battery cables and connectors.
Ive never done this, so Im open to suggestions.
Thanks much for any help,
Andrew

I got mine here http://www.jeepersandcreepers.com/client/Products.php?prokey=126 . They're pricey, but the cables are huge compared to the stock ones. They haven't given me any problems.

The voltmeter on the Renix Jeeps is a notorious liar. 5-90 sells a nice kit for the older Renix http://www.geocities.com/JeepI6Power/electric.html. Or you can go get some welding cable and lugs to make your own. Don't forget the ground straps either.

I made my own before 5-90 started producing them. I've since seen some of his and was thoroughly impressed. Either way, upgrading your leads is a good idea. I've got no clue wether it will help your readings to be more accurate, but it can't hurt...
