....will be held at the Badlands in Attica, IN (http://www.badlandsoffroad.com/). March 6-8th, 2009
Quick and dirty of it all:
Friday March 6th - Potluck supper, you bring it...you cook it...we eat it. Campfire. Every one brings something to share. Usually some good grub.
No orginized trail runs...however...there is always a few "pick-up" runs that happen as trails are being pre-run. Basically for trails on Friday...you're on your own.
Saturday March 7th - Organized Trail runs, catered dinner, Legendary MWC campfire after dinner
Sunday March 8th - Cuddle time before leaving for home. There are usually pick-up runs this day also In other words, again, you're on your own.
Watch this thread for official Winterfest announcements!
Hope to see you there!

Hey! I'm in Flora!
Not sure what you consider a big turnout but.....This thing seems to grow every year. If I remember correctly, last year we had 60 rigs registered. We had a few more than that at the dinner Sat. night. It'd be great if you could make it. It's a guarenteed good time.
We'll have to meet up sometime. I get up to the Ham a few times a month. Hope to see you at Winterfest!

planning to come out from jersey. just wondering the chances of me getting thru the weekend without me breaking something vitally important? i already know not to push it. i'm just wondering how tough those trails are out there. my rig is my dd and my wheeling experience is local pits and the pine barrens.

You'll be fine. You won't be forced to to anything you don't want to. (except for the sheep thing) I don't know how your rig is built but, there's something there for you, and most importantly, you'll have a good time. Stay away from Bob Loose. It's nearly tradition that he breaks.
Looking forward to meeting you. Look me up. I'll be the fat guy in Carhartts.:D

Good deal. Not big into hurting the body at this time. I have not been to Badlands yet. Been to the Cliffs though. Are there some trails that I might not destroy the body on? Also in the camping area are there port o lets atleast? I am really interested in going. Thanks..

You could play in the quarry a bit, but most trails are gonna be tight.
The new bathhouse at the CG should be operational this year, depending on temperature. If not, there are modern restrooms in the main building.

I was at the Badlands about a month ago.
they filled in the end of the tubes so it isn't a big brop.
they also filled in the area in the quarry in front of the steps.
seems like they're attempting to make some things easier.

I had a friend ask me, and yes I know its a jeep site, but he was wondering if he could tag along with his truck? No not an ordinary one, its dovetailed in the rear, 1 ton axles and 39" swampers, and he is not afraid to beat the snot out of it. He visits the badlands quite regularly - mainly the quarry and purgatory areas. I didn't give him any kind of answer till I asked on here.

slight problem...i found out that i have a Calculus Midterm, from 9AM to 10:30AM saturday morning. I promised my dad i would take him with me to WF, so i am going to try to get on the road right at 10:30 and get there by 12:30 to 1ish. I was just wondering if i would still be able to tag along with a group. Im not trying to do anything extreme, just show my dad a good time since he helped me build the jeep.
Any insight guys?

Your best bet would be to head straight to the quarry. There will likely be a group there. You might also try channel 4. There's always a group that uses 4. I'll be gunning on Green with BOB. I'll have my radio on all day. I'm just not sure what channel we'll be on.

I was actually going to ask what channels we are using..... there and anyone heading there.... I got my CB tricked out so I have channels 1-40 and all the side-band inbetween... So Im heading down from Menomonie WI, thinking I will be around channels 3,5, and 37. I'll start a 3 an if it sounds busy I'll move to 5, 37, etc.... Anyone else know what channels they will be on??

You just haven't sweet-talked your professor enough yet. I re-arranged 3 midterms this year and one last year so I could be there Friday :D
As for the CB, check to make sure your mic isn't the problem. Swap in a known good mic and see if it works. If not, I have a spare CB you can use/buy.
