Team Trophy Challenge Ain't Hardcore

I actually would have to say that it is hardcore but compered to the Ladoga Trophy Challenge, It ain't shit.

I was getting very interested about this challenge that takes place in Russia, so I did a little research for ya'll...Let me educate the masses...:D

The Ladoga hinterland has become a sort of Mecca for 4X4 drivers. A multitude of roads used back in the 19th century are now in a state of neglect owing to the social cataclysms of the 20th century and are wooded over. Many bridges across rivers and streams have fallen into a state of disrepair or collapsed entirely. Some parts of the roads have disappeared into bogs.

According to the Ladoga Trophy concept and program, it is a competition mostly for four wheelers, lasting several days and taking place on impassable or virtually impassable terrain. In addition to the race along forest roads, the program traditionally includes such competitions as beach and dune racing, rock trial and legend orienteering. A special place in the competitions belongs to the so called special stage, a timed road-less part of the route.

It is now twelve years that the Ladoga Trophy participants have been ploughing up the area round Lake Ladoga and yet it is different every time. The sponsors strive to take account of the mistakes of previous years and introduce entertaining and memorable innovations to make the experience more intensive and exciting for the participants, to map out new routes and organize an entertaining celebration at the finish line by the walls of St. Isaac's Cathedral.

(I should use this for a school paper or something...hahaha)

Now for pics of these adventures...

Defenitely HardCore. It look like a lot of what they do there is not legal in the States.

The local Trophy Challenges are based off the Camel Trophy : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camel_Trophy (more research for you Keil). I believe that the one big intent is that our local events expect you to be able to drive your rig to and from the event. That really limits the excessive abuse that they could line up...

What kind of axels on the green rig? It almost looks like chain drive encased in a swingarm.

thats why I posted it. I have no clue whats going on there. But it is a really cool idea.

As for the guys going underwater, holy crap! Its so cool to watch. Especially when that red truck went over, the two guys bailed so late! they thought they could make it or something...:spin1:

Thats some pretty wicked stuff. The whole rig going under water was awesome.

I'm pretty sure Team 31 was the ONLY team that drove both vehicles to and from the 2007 event. ;)
