Transfer Case Cone Leak

I have a very slow leak coming out of the cone at the rear driveshaft. Is this something that should be dealt with quickly or is it just a slow aggravating leak? Everything seems ok, but i'm concerned with running out of fluid in the transfer case. Is it transmission fluid?

It uses Mercon/Dextron, it's no big deal to replace the rear seal. At this point you should be more concerned about the mess you leave in parking lots & driveways. Just fix the leak, it's simple.

It's worth fixing. You can't tell easily how much fluid you have in there. Plus if it's like mine was, the driveshaft is throwing it all over the place, lots of smoke and stink from the exhaust pipes. Ive also read it's not good for the wiring, your downstream O2 for example.
