HELP ME!!! Brake light problems

well i switched out the harness on the xj and now i cant get the brake lights to work. I can jump the power when the lights are on to get the brake lights to light up but thats it. all the grounds are good. the fuse is good. The brake lights switch is good. i cant find a pinched wire and there are no loose wires. what the heck else could it be? by the way its a 97. thanks
 
i checked every fuse just in case. Im about to run my own switch unless i can figure this out. I cant find the problem

Just because you just changed it does not mean the one in there is good.

Get a test light and check the switch for power and then operation when your pedal is depressed. Also, the plug to the switch sometimes goes bad (ask me how I know).
