headlight switch

is there a plug that i can disconnect to my headlight switch other then the switch itself? my wires were gettin hot when i pulled my boat home lastnight and it was smelling like burnt wires. its happened before and i'm getting pi$$@# at it. i want it done right this time.

Just out of curiousity, do you have Silverstar headlights or one of the high output bulbs? I had a set of Silverstars burn out my switch, went back to regular bulbs and no problem since.

i dont think so. the ones i have are dim as hell. it only happens when i pull a trailer
