My 2000 Cherokee's (one and only) key fob/door remote lock system has been acting up lately......Yes!, I have replaced the batteries in the Key fob!
In fact, I'm a electronics tech, and I've given the key fob the "Once over" to see if there is something loose, or bad on it.....and without taking it too far...I see nothing wrong.
The problem is that the whole remote/system will just stop working......then hours, days, or a week later...POOF! it's back!
I thought it was a bad set of batteries, or a loose connection somewhere in the key fob...but I've been unable to track it down.
Anyone have any Idea where/what to look on the vehicle side of things?
I'm not even sure what/where the radio signal goes to/comes from...ECM????
Is there a way to program another key fob at home? Or am I looking at a dealer only situation?
Thanks!
