not as cool A/C and overheating...coincidence?

All of a sudden, I'm getting temp gauge readings almost to the red. Running the heater cools it down slowly. So I replace the thermostat, flushed and filled the coolant. Old coolant looked fine.
Noticed today the A/C not blowing as cold.
Any relation here?

Sounds like your electric fan isn't working. It should come on and run the entire time your air conditioning is turned on. No electric fan will let your engine get hot and will not remove heat from the condensor mounted in front of your radiator letting the a/c run warm.

A/C pump may be goin out. Mine was doin the same thing and I had to replace it. Not very difficult, took me an hour to get-r-done!!
