after getting back from the store today i now have coolant dripping from behind the harmonic balancer. i cant see exactly where the leak is originating, but i think it may be the water pump. i checked all the hoses and the thermostat housing and all are dry. plus all the hoses and clamps are new and tight, so it isnt them. does this sound like it would be the pump, or would it be something else?
thanks in advance
Tony

Yes, it does sound like the coolant's leaking from the water pump weep hole. You might see some of it track a small distance down the lower radiator hose and leave stains as a clue.

yep, now i see residue on the lower hose. so does this mean i need a new one?
thanks, Tony

Yes. Your water pump is considerate enough to give you some warning that it's about to expire so start looking for a replacement before it does.
