Fan motor inop?

So I just got my XJ home and on the drive home the AC blew excellent. I shut it down, came out about an hour later, and the fan was inop. It did this same thing on the test drive, but started working just fine on its own.

Anyone experience this? This is my fist jeep, and I'm not sure how to disassemble the fan assembly. I'm buying a Haynes manual tomorrow to try and fix this. Any advice? Cronic failure items?

Check the fan relay or wiring. Usually if a motor fails you'll hear it or it will never work. If a motor goes bad it usually doesn't stop working then start working again later.

where is the relay at?

I was thinking bad wire, or bad relay.

Hallo. In my '92 Jeep.The powerbox right under the hood. With startkey on.
Most left relay #A.
Jump the pins #87 and # 30. Auxfan is running. If not: renew fan.

Are you talking about the aux fan on the radiator or the blower in the heater box?
