I was warming up my 91 XJ, 266k, 4.0L, Manual I came back out to go to work and there was a puddle of gas on the ground. I opened the hood and this is what I saw.

There was significant leakage coming from the connection. The part I circled in red is where the leak is, I dorve to work and it slowed down but my car was over reving/ stalling.I do not know what would be leaking, can someone help?

I believe that is the pressure regulator for the fuel rail (I usually work on RENIX.) If so, there is a seal there - probably an O-ring - and it should be replaced with alacrity! Bear in mind that the exhaust manifold is under there, so it's only a matter of time before you have raw fuel hitting those very hot pipes and lighting up...

Replacing it should be about a ten-minute job. If you want to be thorough, get a fuel rail O-ring kit while you're there and do the whole thing - takes about an hour (soak the o-rings in clean gasoline for about ten minutes or so before you install them - it makes them more pliable and encourages sealing.)

Again, replace that seal ASAFP! Engine bay fires suck, I've had to put out a few for other people...

DUDE! that's leaking on your exahust! No way should you have driven it! Head to the casino, you're lucky ay hell today!

I called Napa to see what thay have, they do not know about a pressure regulator o-ring. Would the fuel injector o-ring kit work? They come in packs of 3.

I honestly can't tell you, and I honestly don't think you have time to dork around. Got a dealer handy? Paying a few bucks for an O-ring is still miles cheaper than a total loss...

Fuel leaks should be handled immediately, if not sooner. I always keep an o-ring set on hand for just such emergencies...

Does anyone know the part # for the O-Ring needed to fix a leaking fuel pressure regulator? or what would work?

Call the dealer, and don't dork around with the thing. I don't have dimensions for the O-ring (does anyone? Nominal diameter and "wire" size?) but don't get replacements at the hardware store anyhow, as they're not fuel-rated. Gasoline will dissolve most common elastomers, and you'll be back where you are now in fairly short order.

Fuel-rated O-rings need to be Viton or Nitrile (I belive Buna-N is also an option, and a bit more common,) but if you don't know for sure, don't bother. Go somewhere else and get a fuel-rated O-ring.

That's why I keep mentioning the dealership - you're more likely to get the part that's dead-on balls to what you need, and fuel seals shouldn't be messed about with. Especially on "side-draft" engines, where the fuel rail and/or lines are above the exhaust manifold.

In my experience the fuel injector oring kit came with one for the regulator as well but that was for a renix, just as the stealership how many o rings come in a pack

Called the dealership, Well it looks like I am out a car for a couple days. Ship the part to a dealership then ship it to me. Thanks for the help everyone. Part was $12.99

There are 2 orings in there. Different sizes too.
