replacing rear shocks in 89 cherokee

No raising required.

Changed them about two weeks ago. For the rear it took about a half hour total - so long as you do not break any of the upper bolts. I put PB Blaster on all the bolts a week beforehand, then again a day beforehand.

This was on an '89 Pioneer.
 
Like TJ Rat said, you don't need to raise it... It might make it easier to get to stuff, but I kinda doubt it. just un-bolt and you're good.
