i have a 87' xj, if you have noticed when you turn ur headlights on ur oem clock dims. now when i turn my lights on it completely turns off, and o yah, my dash and heater lights dont work any more either. its kinda annoying, not a big problem but if this has ever happened to any of you let me know. i checked all of the fuses and they seem to be good , thanks.

Must be the switch.

Sounds like your headlight switch. easy swap if you have little hands =P

This may sound silly, but is the dimmer turned all the way down? The only reason I ask is because I've done it myself.

:roll:When I first got my XJ I did that aswell, to the OP make sure you check that out first.

my headlights still work fine, but so do you think that it would still be the switch? thanks for some tips though.

Shot in the dark here, simply because I don't know if it's true for XJ's like it is for Chevys.

Are your tail light bulbs burnt out?
