so I've finaly found a 44 out of a 87 XJ and I'm wondering when I swap it out for the stock 35 am I going to have to get the driveilne shortened/ lengthened its a 92 with a 242 and sye

no I have a tom woods cv shaft it measures at 35 and 3/16

Not really sure for your case but that wasn't needed with my TW Shaft...for my 8.8. That shaft has quite a bit of adjustability.

the xj dana pinion is 1" longer than the xj dana 35. so you may need to shorten it by one inch. or you may get by just fine if theres enough room in the slip to make it still alright.
