Trans-case light

I was wondering,ever since I go my jeep back from getting my xcase fixed the "4 lock"light is on.Its not engaged,but stays on and last night I was driving ,it was strobbing,on and off.I was wondering what it could be.I check all my electric stuff and everything seemed alright.Any info?

what year is your XJ?
early one's with the CAD used a vacuum switch to activate that light.
Late models have a switch on the t-case.
Likely you'll find the problem at the switch.

also what is that black canister in the back passanger side in the engine area,what purpose does it serve,I check it while running and it did nothing?

Fuel tank vent and gas vapor recovery.
