nobody really puts that much time/effort into a d30. and if your running a tire to where you need hyrdo assist you have no business running a 30

I disagree. I believe mine is tough enough to run 35s no problem and it's easy to get in a spot where you'd need assit with 35s. I don't have it and don't plan on it but I could see the need.

If your going through this much trouble you might as well swap in an hp d44...

It's an axle like any other. Have a knuckle to knuckle tie rod, mount a pair of tabs or a bracket on the tie rod, attach a bracket to the axle, bolt in an appropriately sized ram.
If you want it, do it.

On a daily driver you will need a smaller bore (1" to 1.5") so you retain your quick steering unless you do the pump mod.

try this. A cheap way to have hydro assit. I think it doesnt matter if you have a 30 or a 44, some times the little extra help DOES make it easyer.

Here's how my steering stabilizer is setup:
Could I just put the hydro cylinder in place of the stabilizer? I would make a double shear mount for each end, I wouldn't want to trust single shear for something like this.
