dodge v8 swap

i am getting a 1/2 ton dodge with a 360 and was wanting sawp it into my xj anybody know how hard this would be to do. what about the axles would they be a good swap? any help would be great. thanks

its a 77 if that helps the xj is a 96

Im sure if there are plenty of people putting a 350 in theirs than a 360 would be no problem. I cant imagine the 360 makes that much power being a 77, you might want to consider a rebuild with performance in mind. New cam, heads, intake such and such. I would do a pod of mechanical gauges for oil pressure, rpm, and engine temp.

I use grand cherokee mounts. Yours depending on the intake you use not going to clear the hood unless you got short stuff. I use the trans that was behind the 318 but reuse my stock x case with the input shaft swap. I don't know if you can do that either.
