Is a 12" travel shock enough for a 6.5" lift in the rear.It's goind on an 8.25 if that matters. And what the hell ,how about the front.

That depends on the shock, the mount, bumpstops, etc.
I have about 6.5" of lift, and I'm going to have to cut into the cab to run 12" shocks in the rear.
