do currie axles need currie shafts?

I was talking to them about options and thought I heard the guy say that they bored the tubes and I could not use other shafts. Did I hear right?

That statement is like asking if a blonde can substitute for a redead!Was the axle built custom or based on factory specs?What axle did you have them build?If it was built to factory specs then it will accept factory axles!
