Would I notice gear whine?

Hi,

I just finished setting up used 4.1x gears in my D30/35. The pattern looked picture-perfect (coast+drive) in the front, but I wasn't able to get it so nice in the back. It's well centered and spread out on the drive side, but it looks a bit shallow on the coast side. I thought that was the best compromise, as I rarely go 80 mph in reverse...

I haven't noticed any vibes or noises while driving at highway speeds. If the gears were grossly wrong, would I be hearing something nasty from back there? If I get through the break-in period with no missing teeth and no scorched gears, am I good to go?

If you can't hear anything I'd say run it till it breaks. Maybe stay close to home for a little while to build confidence in the gears?
