Should the speedo sensor have oil inside of it? My speedo stopped working shortly after washing my XJ at Moab one morning. Took it apart and there is oil/fluid inside of it.

I've tried different gears and making sure they are lined up correctly and the speedo still wont work. Any ideas for troubleshooting?

I removed the entire sensor with the gear attached from the TCase. Pulled off the speedo gear and then took off the connector from the top and then took the bolt off the sensor to basically open it up in half. This internal part of the sensor has oil inside.
