89 4.0 Rebuild or Sell

I have an 89, and recently put on a new head. Now I have a loud knock - worn bearing I am guessing. Is it worth it to rebuild the 89 4.0, or should I look into buying a newer XJ? What are the advantages/disadvantages between the 89 and a newer model?

Don't guess before going forward. By any chance, is this an auto? A cracked flex plate sounds a lot like a bearing knock @ #6....

I agree, make dang sure it is a bearing knock before calling it a day. But on the other side, I would rebuild and keep it running. I just removed a motor with over 300,xxx on it and it was still going but getting tired. Any motor that can go 300,xxx + and still run good is worth rebuilding in my opinion.
