Alright i just got a amc 20 out of a wagoneer and my pinion angle is way off and its cause im running a 4 degree shim is there a reason to run a shim other then to correct pinion angles...cause if not is it ok just to not run one..just straight leaf to spring perch...

Thanks,

Josh

yea...shims aren't needed

There is no way to tell unless you measure. With a SYE the pinion should run straight with the Driveshaft (0* or 2* below d.s. for axle wrap.) With a stock slip yoke, the pinion should be parallel with the TC output.
