A couple of ECU questions

On which side of the under dash is the ECU? On my 90 I have a yellow box on the drivers side with it looks like speed adjusters... could that be the control for the cruise? And finally can it run, ie. atart and idle without the ECU pluged in? Sorry for the bonehead questions...

That yellow box is your Cruise module and NO it won't do much of anything without the ECU plugged in.
The ECU would also be drivers side, a few more inches toward passenger and front a bit from the Cruise box. It is also a box, with Renix or Bendix on it.

As I recall, the ECU is a good deal larger, silver in color, and tucked pretty high up between steering column and heater vents on the driver's side. It has a very large and wide electrical connector. It's not very easy to get in and out.
