Oil Pressure?

My oil pressure gage has been reading eradically lately.
When i accelerate from a stop the reading goes way down to 10, then when im cruising it goes back and forth in between 30 and 50.
Could this be my oil pump taking a crapola?

Sounds more like a sending unit problem. Grab another one and put it in...they are not very expensive...

Ill try the Oil pressure sending unit first.

But what does a bad oil pump usually do?

Does a bad oil pump just not work at all, or does it behave similar to a bad oil sending unit?

Stupid question, but have herd more stupid answeres. Have you checked your oil? When mine gets a bit low, the pressure will be low at idle, and pick up some at cruise.

I checked the oil level when it first started reading funny.
Yes, correct amount.
Reads fine at idle, when accerating the pressure drops super low, then rises at cruise. Does this intermitanly.
Reads fine sometimes, eratic at other times.
I shall replace the OPSU.
The moment it presists then i will park it and replace the oil pump.
Time for a rear main seal anyways.
