Braided Steel Exaust Flange?

ive heard about a flange or joint (whatever) that goes between the exaust manifold and the down pipe connecting pieces. i think it was made of braided steel so that the down pipe could have some flex and take some stress off the very bottom of the exaust manifold.

anyone know what i'm talking about or the web address please!
