FULL TIME 4WD AND AN SYE???

I have a 97 xj with the full time 4wd option(still selectable) and I want to do a lift soon. I plan on doing 3-4.5" of lift sooner or later so can I just use a regular sye on this or do I need something different?

the 242 case, which you have, has aftermarket SYE's

Basically a hack and tap is your only option with the 242. There are basically 2 ways of going about it. You can either modify the output shaft yourself or, purchase a pre-cut and tapped output shaft and replace your current output shaft with the new pre-cut and tapped one.

I did the hacking and tapping myself and had no problems. Not that bad of a job at all.
