Hanging driveshaft

Long story short, bad night at the track, and my driveshaft isnt connected to the rear. Shittles. It looks like whatever is going into the pumpkin from the shaft is destroyed. How complicated will this be to fix? Do I basically pull it out and put a new one in or will the rear have to be completely disassembled? Also what are the chances of internal damage in the rear end? It is a 97 8.25.

sounds like just need a new yoke, as long as the pinnion isn't damaged

Yeah it literally tore the bolt heads off the bolt. Unfortunately one of the retaining notches on the yolk broke so Ill need to grab a new one. Does it need to be from the same year and rear end?

doesn't have to be from the same year, but needs to be from the same rear end.
If you got lucky it's just the yoke that's damaged, removed the pinion nut and then install the new yoke. You need to kno what the torque setting is, as it sets pinion bearing preload.
