Transfer case not shifting right

The title explains it all. When I shift from 4Hi down to 2Hi it seems to stay in 4 untill I stop or it just lets go. It will useally clicks back in when I drive and feels like I am hitting a bad pothole.

What do you think the problem might be? I have been using it alot lately because of the 10"+ of snow we got here.

what year is it? vaccum disco axle or no? I'd start off by checking the fluid in the t-case and check the shift linkage...thats just where id start, but im no expert

It is a 95. Im not sure about the axle but my guess is no.

Would the fluid have an effect on when it shifts?

you need to adjust the linkage. Put the interior handle in 4-lo then loosen the nut on the linkage underneath. Use your hand to put the t-case in 4-lo and make sure it is all the way in, then tighten the nut. Everything should be correct then, but you might need to slightly fine-tune.
